You weren't there to see my first grin.

Or give me a band-aid when I fell and scrapped my shin.

You weren't around to take my side when me and mom were in a fight.

Or tuck me in each night.

Or say no matter what I love you.

And help me no what to do.

Oe be there when I first learned how to walk.

Or clap for me when I started to talk.

And you'll miss holding my first flesh and blood.

And when I cry you won't be there with a hug.

Dad, you've missed out on each day of my I'm here.

And each day to me feels like another year...
