I feel as though this is what every writer goes through. The simple act of debating the relevance of what they're saying. Does it really matter, after all?

I don't claim to know about the world.
Perhaps I have claimed to in the past,
but as so indicated,
in the past those times will stay.

What I do know about the world is limited.
Both relative to what other people know,
and also relative to what there is to learn
over all.

My writing s crude,
at best.
My vocabulary is limited,
again, at best.

So what,if anything, can I contribute?
A new perspective?
A fresh glance at something once forgotten?
Probably not.

Why continue then?
Why go forward, typing these words,
on a page that nobody will see at most,
will care at least.

Perhaps it' the act.
Maybe it's the fact that I am here,
sitting, writing, thinking,
which brings this art to life.

It may not be new,
it may not be bold,
it may not be revolutionary,
but it is.

It exists,
and maybe
that's all it takes,
to call it poetry.
