We sit alongside each other

two separate souls.

Her hair long and brown

freckles on her face.

We are worlds apart

but I enjoy her company.

She brushes my hand with hers

amazed at it's softness

she grabs it.

Her fingers rubbing down my palm

I smile looking into her eyes

wondering if she knows

I would be her's in an instant.

She knows, I think

taking my hand back.

The bell rings, ending class

and the girl rushes away.
