Love Still Goes On:
While the Sun sets in the evening, I gaze at the heavenly sky. I notice the clouds are paths to peace and answers. I meditate for a long time just laying on the soft green grass looking up at the sky next to my soul mate, lover, and friend. I look back on the times of good and bad, realizing they were steppingstones to truth and love. Even though I am old and gray, I am still learning how to love. It’s not over when your old like me, it’s just the beginning of a new precept in life. I wished I knew this while I was young; love isn’t really a feeling, it’s a new lifestyle.
While the sun rises in the morning, I wake up to a beautiful, young lady. She greets me with a smile that makes my day worth living for. I give her a soft kiss and I start the morning chores.
After everything is done we go to our porch deck and we drink our coffee while we talk about life and how we got this far.
In the afternoon when the sun is set high, we go to our favorite memorable place. It’s a place of peace and warmth. We forget our troubles and trials and we just live for the moment. Our love is so great that all problems are no challenge for us.
In my coffin, Silent and dark, I lay there just thinking of her. Dead I may be, but our love still goes on. Heaven is near, and there we shall reunite with our love greater than it ever was. Late in the night, when the moon light bright, we awake and dance under that bright light to our song. The night is over, back to our graves we go. We end with a kiss, ever so passionate. We say goodnight, tomorrow is another day.
