The tea was warm, and the weather was cold. I finally bring my weary head off the pillow and stand up, ready to begin my day. I drape my favorite blue sweater over my stinky, sex smelling body and continue on to the bathroom. My hair is a mess; I look like a lion who had just hunted down a gazelle on the African Plains. The water had a scent on this particular morning, not one that gave off a smell, but one that radiated a feeling of cleanliness. As I look out of the bathroom window, the light of dawn struggles to creep over the snow-laden mountain tops. I consider this a prodigious feat of nature, and I realize the love the universe was trying to convey to me. “Everything’s fine”, it was trying to tell me in a subtle way. An amazing feeling encompasses my senses, and I feel reborn- a process I can’t control and don’t wish to control. I decide from now on, I’m going to handle life as it comes to me, instead of trying to control the ungraspable. And with that, I walk in to my living room. Garbage, everywhere. Maybe it’s time to clean.
