This poem is about me and how I had to let go of my addiction. I see my addiction as a lady, whilst seductive they can also be very dangerous.

I can feel her on my shoulder,

Her persuasion drifts into my ear,

I love her yet I despise her motives,

She has me in a bind.

This bittersweet cage,

I know its bars,

The chips in the wall,

Scratches on the floor,

I know every speck of dust,

Every tear,

Every drip of despair.

Our eyes meet,

She is distraught,

But I leave without turning back.
