An urban legend about a boy who makes people commit revenge upon others

I was never one to believe in the supernatural. I always thought they were just for fun. My boyfriend’s dad thought so too until he came across that old house on Jockey Hallow. Jockey Hallow is a nice-enough neighborhood. Sort of quiet, not many crazy things happen there but not according to my boyfriends’ dad. Now, mind you, my boyfriend’s dad has never told a lie in his life and detests people who do lie. He is a tough guy, not someone you would like to mess with and he still gets the shivers after telling this story.

So one night as he was jogging through the neighborhood for his daily night run, he came across the old house. He had heard many stories about it but never believed them. The most recent story about the house was that a family of three lived there in the early 1950s. The father was an alcoholic and abused his family. The mother was too scared of the husband to do anything besides blame her son for making him mad and have the father slap the son around too. The son was about 10 at that time Well, according to the story, after one drunken, abusive night too many, the boy snapped. He brutally killed his father and shot his mother soon after. After that he was never found again. Police officers looked high and low for the boy but all they found were empty bottles of beer, the smell of strawberry perfume, and the boys’ journal. In the journal it had one quote, by William Shakespeare “If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not get revenge?” and the revenge part was written in (what I heard) dry blood. The journal and beer bottles were everywhere they looked. You would think that those things would be in the house but it seemed like everywhere they looked they found all three of the symbols. That quote that was written in blood? Yeah, that was everywhere too.

The boy pretty much disappeared off the face of the earth. No one could find him.  Apparently they had said it was like looking for a ghost. He would be found when he wanted to be found. The boy was not just going to walk out and turn himself in. That would be stupid and the boy was not stupid. In the 60s some people believed that he was the second shooter in the Kennedy Assassination. They thought that he shot the second bullet that hit Kennedy, the shooter that stayed in the grassy knoll waiting for the perfect moment to pull the trigger to end yet again another life.

Eventually, after many dead-ends and fake mysterious phone calls, it became a cold case. People moved on, the “Invisible Killer” became old news, but back to why my boyfriends dad gets shivers. Well he actually decided to try and go in the house and he found all the things the police found, except the quote. But apparently what he did see was the night the boy snapped. So vividly that he said he felt like he was there. He heard the gunshot so close to his ears it felt like the boy was right next to him. He heard the bottles crashing, the terrified, blood-curdling screams. Now he comes the scary part, when he looked on the ground, the gun was at his feet with the word “Revenge” written on it. So as you would think, he high-tailed out of there. When he told me I told him that it was complete crazy, but he said he was not finished. The last part made me reconsider my beliefs and make my blood run cold. He said he had flashbacks of that terrible night, a few days later he was driving someone cut him off the road and normally he would not do anything about it. He is not the type of person to get revenge ever. He lets things go. He sped up, cut in front of the guy and almost caused an accident. He felt like it was not even he driving. He heard that the boy still walks around the world sending the need of revenge upon the innocent. He thinks whenever a person has the need to put revenge upon another person that it is actually the boy influencing the person.
