See your people, like stray sheep cry

Weeping, grieving, asking why

Why have their shepherds led them astray?

To barren soil, to earth turned gray?

Where the swine wallow in drunk delight

Where the Snake prowls in the shroud of night?

What is this place, where the winds does not blow

And where even the weeds refuse to grow?

Oh Lady in white, of flowers bound

Look to the sheep upon the ground

Figures curled, they wail in sleep

Soaked in tears, of sorrows deep

Oh Lady in white, of joy conceive

Tell them of their hearts’ reprieve

The moment when night like ashes fall

And come, oh sunshine, your voice will call!

But for now, the Lady said, take heart

Though the Snake has come to tear thee apart!

It hungers and craves like a vulture preys

It is starved and wasted, like flesh decays

And so the Lady called out, steel your core!

The Snake sinks its teeth into your heels once more!

Though today our feet in sadness bled

Sings the Lady, we shall crush Its head!
