So I probably need to explain this. I'm just uploading this because it will never see the light of day otherwise, so I take an acting class and every year we perform monologues. I can never find one I like so this time I wrote my own and performed it. Now because of this, there is really no background or story, so it will likely leave you puzzled and there's not much I can do about that. The other thing to keep in mind is that I wrote this in seven minutes so don't expect Hamlet or anything. ENJOY!

The machinations of a madman

Hmmmmm.... Here we are again, back to the same petty squabbles we found ourselves at so  long ago. All those times we argued over the petty insignificances of our former selves. But this is bigger than that isn't it? How can I compare the little things we'd argue over to this...this... Catastrophe? Of course I can't. People now think me some sort of psychopath, and who knows? Maybe I am, I just can't recognize my lack of mental stability. But who would know? Not I, not those idiots in their ivory towers, no, who better to judge my competence, than you, my dear brother. Well, I suppose that is the conclusion you've come to. But the sheer arrogance that shrouds you tells me that perhaps you aren't who I thought you were. I trusted you. And what did you do?

No! You abandoned me! You left me to wallow in poverty while you went off to live your dream.
But now we sit here, the tables have turned. Here you are, on the run from those you once held so dear. You know what I want. Don't you.

Hmhmhm, yes, very good. Now I see you have no option but to obey my wishes now. It would certainly be unfortunate, if someone were to report your location to the police. I wouldn't want to know the fate that awaits you, but, if I must find out.... I suppose we shall see.
