Abhimanyu came home from work late, tired, frustrated and irritated, to find his 12-year old daughter Riya waiting for him at the door.
Riya: "Papa, may I ask you a question?" Abhimanyu: "Yeah sure, what is it?" Riya: "Papa, how much do you make an hour?" Abhimanyu: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?" Abhimanyu said angrily. Riya: "Don’t be angry papa …I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?" Abhimanyu: "If you must know, I make 2000 Rs. an hour.” Riya: "Oh, with his head down Riya replied,” Papa can I borrow 500Rs please.” Abhimanyu was furious, "If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you go yourself straight to your room and go to bed.
Riya quietly went to his room and shut the door.
Abhimanyu sat down and started to get even angrier about Riya’s questions.
After about an hour or so, Abimanyu started to think: Maybe there was something she really needed to buy with that 500 Rs as she really didn't ask for money very often. Abhimanyu went o Riya’s room and said
"Are you asleep, sweetie?"
"No papa, I'm awake," replied Riya
"I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier" said Abhimanyu.
"It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here are 500 Rs you asked for." Riya sat straight up, smiling. "Oh, thank you papa!" she replied. Then, reaching under his pillow she pulled out her piggy bank.

Abhimanyu saw that Riya already had money, started to get angry again. Riya slowly counted out her money, and then looked up at Abhimanyu.
"Why do you want more money if you already have some?" Abhimanyu grumbled.
"Because I didn't have enough, but now I do," Riya replied.
"Papa, I have 2000 Rs now. Can I buy an hour of your time?
Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you."
Abhimanyu was crushed. He put his arms around Riya , and he begged for his forgiveness..Riya took out a small piece of paper from her bag and gave it to Abhimanyu.

He went to his room and opened that crumbled paper. He was amazed to see beautiful drawing of a man and a little girl with small poem written...

Dear papa

A father is someone that
holds your hand at the fair
makes sure you do what your mother says
holds back your hair when you are sick
brushes that hair when it is tangled because sometimes mother is too busy
lets you eat ice cream for breakfast
but only when mother is away
he walks you down the aisle
and tells you everything is gonna be Ok!

(Papa I copied this poem from internet as I thought you used to do same things when I was small. Hope you will like it.)

Abhimanyu was touched. He stood in front of mirror and said to himself,
“We never understand how important our time is for our loved ones. They are the real treasure we have. Try to cherish them.Try to be with them....”
