A poem about the protagonist's feelings of feeling enchained in the World of being a teenager.

My twisted heart, forever broken

Silent nights and broken dreams Where I cry and torment myself to sleep And blame all my misfortunes On my twisted heart, forever broken.

Long-lost friends and crushed romances Mock my sorrow by pulling on my chains. Throw away the key and laugh at me And my twisted heart, forever broken.

The boys and girls from down the road Come play by the home of my chains Skipping around in their freedom as I stay sealed In my twisted heart, forever broken.

A beastly form lays among the graceful blossoms And the birds that sing their taunting songs silences The chains that rattle upon the ground imprisoning The twisted heart, forever broken.

Then a light breakouts upon the sky, a light where I pull, Pull away from the chains to escape their grasp Where with no locks but only wings to fly I can escape from my twisted heart, forever broke
