My son My son what have you done

My son my son where have you gone

The world you knew is now but a memory

The people you pleased are now empty

Happiness is but a wave on the sea

Tossed and thrown from shore to shore

Hold true to the rock by which the truth you see

Do not fall into the hands that held you before

My son my son you what have you done

My son my son where have you gone

I am proud to have a lad such as thee

I am a father proud of the courage I see

Hold fast as the trials and tribulation come

Hold strong and do not give into sins seductive hum

My son whom I love and long to see

My son whom I can’t wait to see what you can be
