Craving the thrills
Like a fork in a socket
It’s a bad habit
But I can’t knock-it

Coming up empty
With a palm full a sweat
No luck there
Just a pocket of debt

It’s not so easy
To walk in my shoes
As a good ol’ boy
With some down south blues

Taking a ride
Into the mouth of hell
It’s a story
Only the south can tell

Once knew a lady
With a cool place to meet
Next to her
I found my favorite seat

For this princess
Fate would never choose
Some good ol’ boy
With these down south blues

Searching for
The place where thoughts go
Getting high
Will help beat the low

Searching for love
But she’s left no clues
Just a good ol’ boy
With some down south blues
