Hollow whispers in the air,
Soundless music I can’t bear.
Is it real?
Am I real?
An impaired heart that never heals.
I can’t fathom being free,
It’s something that’s not meant for me.
I tell myself it’s just a phase,
Where’s the exit to this maze?
My soul is broken on its own,
I’m surrounded, yet alone.
Floating aimlessly in here,
Inside a labyrinth of fear.
Inferior and insecure,
Lacking anything that’s pure.
Blaming others for my flaws,
With a heart mourning a loss.
For my identity’s what passed away,
Forever gone another day.

Wow. Very beautiful. "For my identity's passed away." Sounds a lot like I have felt a few times over the course of my life. I can relate . very intriguing words. I enjoyed it.

Wed, August 30th, 2017 2:07pmTo me this is a poem of loss, of self, of confidence. And as such I can really relate. Those first two lines, jaylisbeth, set the whole tone. Well done!
Wed, August 30th, 2017 4:30pm'Surrounded, yet alone,' a stand out line from an excellent poem, J.B!

Wed, August 30th, 2017 11:51pmLook in the mirror, you will see, a Princess looking back at thee...
That's the priceless girl I see! Princess Lizbeth, soon to be...
Known by all for poetry! Conqueror of insecurity!!
When she shares what's in her heart; Splendid knowledge to impart...
Pierces hearts just like a dart... Carries message, just like cart!
Changing lives with living art... One day a world will sense her smart!
I simply like the line 'I'm surrounded, yet alone' which some of us could relate to the reality of life. I like how you use life experiences and resemble them beautifully in the form of a poem. Great work, friend! :)
Wed, September 6th, 2017 10:45amWell done Jaylisbeth, the maze of love, a wall at every turn...Tom...
Sat, December 16th, 2017 11:16amThis poem says quite a lot. Written rythmically! It is really the song of your heart.
Sat, December 16th, 2017 6:02pmThis was beautiful, yeat heart breaking. I could really feel all the emotions you put into this poem. I can relate to a lot of the things you said in this poem but the part of the poem that really spoke to me personally was "I am surrounded, yet alone"
This was very good Jaylisbeth. Thank you for putting it out there for us to read.
