This poem really speaks volumes about me in regards to my character and typical outlook on life at times; trying to be positive and productive all-the-while falling back on the negative, neigh-saying everything. I have a bad habit with this, but at least, I recognize my problem and therefore need only get off my lazy butt and do something about it.

Temporary Euphoric Heavenby Jeff Nevison
I begin a new novel, a path that lies before me; as I tread carefully, I take everything in
The fields are vast and forests lush; trees swaying in the gentle breeze of the afternoon
I remember this scene from long ago; the feelings of euphoria, relief and contentment
I spend time in observation of each scene passing before my eyes, not missing anything
A bright future before me, I feel my lips form into a rare smile I’m not accustomed to
Could it be I, riding high on the cumulous, soaring above the glorious land passing below
An unfamiliar exuberance sets my mind free and fills my heart with joy almost bursting
I take time to enjoy this point in my existence, knowing that soon, it’ll all disappear
