Another oldie. I wrote this for the first girl I had a crush on. So it was written while I was in 6th or 7th grade.

As I sit here and stare
At beauty like a jewel,
I wonder why love isn't fair,
And how it could be so cruel.

People talk wonderfully about love,
But I do not agree.
They say it soars like a dove,
But it doesn't seem to like me.

Why do I love someone
Who doesn't love me?
Someone who has beauty like the sun,
And to my heart, holds the key.
