SEARCHING

- Jayabalakrishnan

Who am I?

Where am I?

What do I want to do with this life?

What does this society wants from me?

Why I was created?

Why I am always worried?

Why I am inferior to the other?

 Why I was born poor?

Why I was so unlucky?

I am the one, who is looking for the answer for very long time. Where should I start my search? Well I do not know until now. I have been through many situations. My name is Johnson Kelvin.

In addition, this is one of the same regular days.

It is a well bright good sunny morning as usual. I tried to open my eyes will all my will. Nevertheless, everyone’s friend caught me in that men time; I am just briefing about sluggishness until I heard a sound coming from outside.

“Get up you idiot, can’t you wake up before the sun. Get away from the bed, you lazy fellow!” shouted, my mother.

I brought my all willing to wake up and jumped out of the day. “What a boring day it is going to be” I thought to myself. So, I quietly walked towards bathroom. I firmly took a small amount of toothpaste, and started brushing. Since, I my did not wanted to leave me alone; I sat on the nearby staircase with a soulless eyes. After I brushed my tooth, I gave a cordial hospitality to my morning duties.

“Don’t you finish brushing, what a lazy creature are you? You should learn some good learning’s from dogs,” scolded my mother. I did not answer her questions. I just thought great mother is she, who always compare to animal and not with others. After a long breath, I walked towards the hall having a towel coated on the waist.

“What a fellow you are? All youngsters like you wake up in early and moves on to their work. You are the one this village without work.” My mother is advising me from the kitchen and continued his lecture “Why you can’t go and search for a job. We belong to middle class family but we are poorer than our category. So, why can’t you help our family with a job?”

This common thing happens in my life day after day since I pursued my degree from the college. Oh! Yes, I am jobless. I did not protest against doing jobs. Though I finished my degree in first class, no one is ready to give a job. I searched jobs on online, walked for Walk-in Interviews. Nothing helped me or on another word, nothing suited me. I am a low profile candidate for marketing jobs but highly qualified for official work.

“What a looser I am?” asked to myself. Walked to my room pulled a dress to wear and gave it a shot. Yes a perfect dress for the one who has no job. Looked into the mirror, it reflected an image of upper-class beggar.

Applied oil to hair, masked face with talc and walked towards the door. I leaned on a plastic chair that kept outside the house facing the road. The last bus of the morning session for students in this way passed in front of my eyes. I gave a shot view around the street from the chair. The street seems very quiet, as if I was lost in a no man’s land.

Well I bent toward the floor of my left side to pick up the newspaper. I searched vacancy status and walk-ins notifications all over the place. My eyes grassed all over the newspaper for a job opportunity for my credentials and found none. I threw the paper into the house only by twisting my body towards the door.

My mother came outside in a swift and praised me for my manner and urgency, which follows “what a quick view, if you do a short and fast view like this you will never get a job. You will get a living hood of a happy life. Every one of this family will make fun out of you. Do you think this is a good way of living a life without a career….” And it went on and on….until the cooker gave a whistle.

She ran in to the kitchen but the immortal essay is unfinished. It continued till the breakfast is over.

After 9.15 AM, my mother went to nearby house where all the members of our family who works as tobacco workers would form a committee and talks on useless topics of others even when they work. Yes, they do a home based work for less remuneration.

I sat on the chair near the dinner table till the next half an hour fades away in the history. Then I moved to my bed and glazed at the clock’s moving hands.

In shortly, it seemed that time stopped from moving. I am bored. I closed my eyes and searched for my long lasting questions.

Who am I?

Where am I?

What do I want to do with this life?

What does this the world wants from me?

Why I was created?

Why I am always worried?

Why I am inferior to the other?

 Why I was born poor?

Why I was so unlucky?

After these entire questions, a cheap-minded question arose from my useless mind.

Every man born as a baby cries on hunger and sorrow. Mother is the first name every child calls for the first time. Without the mother, we never know our father. With our fathers help we find our path for knowledge. Knowledge is the greatest weapon forged by Teachers for learners. We learn well, We live well, We use the knowledge to create well, We draw it to live well.

An lazy, worthless man lives like cockroach starving for day to day life.

A normal man changes himself as an employee and lives a battling life. An hard working regular thinking man converts himself into a leader, Business man and goes on. A hard working, hard thinking man formats himself into Scientist, Scholars. A man with hard hearted against feelings and unique thinking man transforms into the highest knowledge man called saints and sages.

Why are they doing all these?

What does it gives?

Why do we want to live like this?

Everyone in the world belongs to one category of above. And every does a great records in their category.

Yes, everyone make his or her own accounts in the society and in the world. After that, what is the end?

Retirement? Do you think so?

Human being is an art of god created from the dust and we finally return to the dust.

Death itself destroys the art of God.

Every life in the world was crated for a purpose.

What is the purpose?

Living a life as a son/Daughter, and evolves into a student, gaining the trust of others and transforming them into your friends. Gaining the love, affection of her/his loved heart and lives as a lover. Ruling a perfect job and joining hands with their loved ones and increase their status into husband/Wife. Yielding a good ripped fruit of their love and gaining their promotion as father/mother. Watching the life cycle of their son/Daughter and getting themselves into a higher position, the head of the house as grandfather/grandmother.

Now this question, I have been searching all these years.

Is this the way of living?

Does god created us to live like this.

It can be done even by animals, the only thing the lack is they use their both the hands to walk.

Why we are doing this?

Why are we doing his mechanical steps of living from ages to ages?

Why?.......

I am searching answers in every darkness of the light and in every hotness of the cold.

Suddenly, I woke up from the bed on hearing the bell of the clock strikes at 12 PM.

I walked to the washroom cleared my face, went to the dining hall started to eat my lunch.

However, still I am searching for answers and I will not stop till get the answers.

The secret of creation lies within us and found the clue and searching the Key.
