This is a poem I wrote about a fellow co-worker of mine. I worked in quality assurance with just one other person and he always managed to do something to get on one's nerves. I used to write for his blog a daily post of just the trouble he caused. On one such occasion, I wrote the following:

Today I took a day of relaxation
From a troublesome corporation
And also away from my friend Dave.
Resting, watching tv, and a little Everquest,
Will fill my every moment of my day of rest,
For when I return to work I must be brave

Since David will start with, "Where is my post?"
Or some other phrase just to toast
My restful bliss of the last three days.
No more calm and serenity,
Nor fun, nor merriment, nor amenity,
Just his tongue to bring me haze.

It is really hard to contrive
One full day without a jive.
To hit him with all my might
Or ask my supervisor for consultation,
To demonstrate to him defenestration
Or even for someone else to show him the light.

Would bring pleasure to me beyond all belief
To bring a final closure to all my grief.
I often sit here wishing for a miracle
That someone, on my behalf, would intervene
And to act as a go between
To finally end this satirical

Version of television’s "The Odd Couple."
To think, no more chance for Dave to quintuple
My temper, angst or blood pressure.
The chance to work with him on equal ground
Would surely bring our supervisors to astound
To the point where they would constantly thresher

Our performance as a workable team.
But, alas as far fetched an idea that would seem,
I think David takes great pleasure
In adding great strife to the situation
By being difficult in our vocation
So I will experience grief beyond all measure.

Well. the sky is displaying its noir
So I bid final "Bonsoir"
To you and everyone in the world.
Rest assured though, unless I expire
Or situations here get more dire,
My writing will continue of tales yet unfurled.
