I walk in the nightmare, that I call my life,
stumbling through each day, barely finding the next.
Walking in darkness, no matter the time of day,
shadows are cast over me, from a future long forgotten.
Climbing through the tangled branches of a dying life,
while glances are cast toward me like I'm a mad man.
As minutes pass, my eyes locked on the hands of a clock,
confused to see them move, in this time without place.
I reach for a hand that's been lost so long ago,
calling to ears that can not hear the words any longer.
Greeted by silence, as tears streak down a lonely face,
and splash to the soil of a grave long covered.
I turn to go, knowing the miles will put no distance between,
as these tears rest upon my face for others to see.
Giving the world a small glimpse into my time without place,
in the hopes that someone will grasp my hand.
