Taking time to enjoy the small things in life.

"Summer Nights:

I sit on the porch at dusk with my hands in my lap.

Hot and muggy showed on the map.

I am mesmerized by the site,

of fireflys dancing in the night.

They weave their spells over fields of clover.

There will be hundreds of them before the night is over.

They wash their wings on the dew of the grass.

Their lights shine as if they were glass.

All is right in the world, for now anyway.

The sunset is pink, the geese point the way.

To where the angels are making cookies all through the day.

That is what my mother used to say.

The pinks, the oranges, the colors he paints,

accross the sky, to honor his saints.

There is peace on this night, no storm in sight.

On warm summer breezes, the fireflys take flight.
