For those who don't toss the word "love" around, like a tennis ball...

Look at him...
He's so handsome...
Listen to him...
He's so smart...
Talk with him...
He's so awesome...

What do I feel?
A lost emotion.
An emotion that is royally uncommon these days.
Often times mistaken for lust.
Used on every Tom, Dick, and Harry that came along.

I won't lie.
I've done it too.
I've used the term loosely before.
I once thought I felt the emotion.
Until I was hit.
Flat in the face, like someone had thrown a brick.

I got to know him.
I grew to like him...
and I began to love him.
His intelligence.
His smile.
His laugh.
His personality.

Boy meets boy.
Boy likes boy.
Boy does something TERRIBLY stupid way too early.
Boy is trapped in a classification.
Forever, he will be looked at as "The one who became attached after relations."
So many people hold the title.
Most of which totally deserve it.
But what happens when someone doesn't?

I dream of days of just sitting next to you.
Talking to you about anything. Everything.
Laughing at your jokes.
Agreeing with your arguments.
Fighting what you are against.
I look at you and say,
"Wow. He is such an amazing boy."
We're best friends.
I love it.
I trust you.
Hopefully you trust me.
I love you...
I know you don't love me...
You think I'm attached...
Think I'm lusty.
You think that I became this way after we did something.
To be honest...I just wanted to make you happy.
I was, and still am, willing to go out of my way just to put a smile on your face.
Because I love seeing you smile.
I LOVE seeing you happy.
When you tell me you had a great day,
I actually DO care.
When you tell me something is bothering you,
I actually DO care.
If you are at the edge of your rope...
Take mine...I'm there.
I care.
About you. About what you feel.
What you think.
I love sitting there, just listening to what you have to say.
It's okay.
You don't annoy me.
Don't worry.
I'll always have your back.
No one would DARE harm you,
as long as I'M around.
So go ahead.
Tell me about your day.
Give it to me in vivid detail.
I'll listen.
I'm here...
