A mysterious shadow

Hung over the shallows

At the western end of the loch.

No-one knew why

For the shadow was shy

And the Priest had not taken stock.

"Tis the shadow of a demon,"

Said Stanley Freeman

Who sported a top-hat and cane.

"Tis a Banshee, not a demon,"

Said Caloocan Mac Farlawn,

"And it's come to drive us insane!"

Well, Good Father Crow

Said, "Gee, I don't know.

Let's discuss it over a flask.

So they headed for town

But were quickly cut down

By who? I dare not ask.

Was it a demon that day

That took them away

Or the Banshee that circles the loch?

No-one has a clue

Who chopped them in two,

The whole town's in a bit of a shock.

***

They held services by the lake

And there were tears at the wake

But not from a mortician named Art.

He talks to ghosts, you see?

And he heard about me

From the three that I hacked apart.
