Trapped in a chamber of chrome;

The eyes watch me and smile as I try to escape

They know it’s not possible, but lie and wait;

I’ll soon discover it on my own.

Where victims fell and settled in rest,

I kick their remains and stumble past.

Searching through the dark for a door that isn’t there,

I turn and face the preying stares.

They do not shift as I approach;

Patient and coy while they watch

They know that in time I’ll finally stop;

I’ll lie down and let death encroach.
