This is about some people I know who are battling some substance abuse problems. It is out of sympathy for them as I notice the same cycles of self-destruction happening month after month.

Habitual Decline

Smokey room of smoke the smoke smokes itself we chill.  The beer cans pile up drunken smoke taste dim flickering light the smoke smokes itself.  Music sounds like shit the beer is sick-tasting almost a hint of vomit clothing absorbing more smoke.  Smoke this, smoke that.  Smoke.  Obsessive compulsive consumptive corruption ulcerating daily habits compiling gastric excitement knots the bowels clean the blood out of the toilet again.  Will this shit ever end we chill.  Omnipresent smoke of crystal and tobacco, crack and marijuana, incense sweat blood tripping free clothes from the shelter soup kitchens cigarette butts on the ground we chill.  Next month the cheques are mailed the smoke smokes itself the beer cans pile up drunken smoke taste dim flickering light the smoke smokes itself.  The skin rots, lungs blackening and liver failure internal bleeding ulcers tooth loss in the smoke room.  Self-destruction, turning away, violent self-loathing. Turning within, turning inside-out.  Smokey room of smoke the smoke smokes itself we chill.
