Out In The Wilderness

By Jeff Shumate © 2009

A family born, the hearts adorn, but will be torn,

From journeys long, not to belong,

In the wilderness of this world…

Crying out, your life gives shout,

Often left with doubt,

In the wilderness of this world…

From dusk to dawn,

A silent song,

From dawn to dusk…

You seem alone, the cause—

To most unknown…

Tempted to rejoin,

With those wandering about,

In the wilderness of this world…

In the quiet of the day, of the night,

Standing alone in a crowd…

Keep crying out; silence not your shout,

In life, tell the lost, of life,

Through Christ, Savior, and King…

The wilderness of this world,

Thieving all worthwhile,

Piercing the heart of child…

A still small voice,

Whispering within,

Child I’m with you…

Never to leave, nor forsake,

God has chosen, this heart to take,

For His home…

You’re never alone,

In the wilderness of this world…
