Pain and Joy

© 2010 Jeff Shumate

Pain and joy coincide,

Inside…

Whirling in the wind of my soul,

They collide,

The lion roams about,

Devouring inside and out,

It’s the end of another day,

Just trying to find my way,

To God all I can say,

Remember me not this way,

The precious blood of your Son,

Covers the stains of my life,

Seeing what could be lost,

Were it not for the work of the cross,

I look into the little mans eyes,

Where so precious a gift resides,

Oh God, your healings begun,

Because of the blood of your Son,

Working with the pain and joy,

Inside they coincide.
