A worldliness takes ancient wisdoms’ stead,

because they say “to see is to believe”.

How can one see the truly awesome when

the arrogance of modern man impedes?

The modern preach goes: “look how far we’ve come,

‘twas ages since the first ignited brush,

millenniums since the savage men etched rock,

and centuries since the ghosts of pasts were shunned;

‘twas decades since disproving heaven’s realm,

a few years since the world’s third apple rage,

some less than three days since a glutton’s belch,

and minutes since girls worshipped mortal fame..”

Commuting lives whip by in hazy blurs,

too hasty in this time to ponder errs.
