This life isn't a fairly tale

and I haven't willingly surrendered

the voice lost in crashing waves,

my human world looks a mess,

cluttered by broken seashells

gouging deeply into the underbelly,

the place where arrows pierce

and glinting masts destroy

and calm found within hurricane's eye,

forever floundering, I find myself mute,

carbon copy of a Disney Princess

stuck in perpetual crescendo

on the precipice of peace,

yet lacking the happy ending

promised to Walt's Royal Court,

Ariel finds her voice amidst the ruin,

chaos forming into meshed cohesion

at the last possible moment,

but this life isn’t a fairy tale,

so I blindly scream at the stars,

silently begging for an absolution

of sins I've not yet committed

if it will only free me

from nets of cruelest design,

and return the song with catchy lyrics

I so desperately need to reach you.
