i lie awake at night
thinking... to myself
of The Goddess
cloaked in moonlight
wrapped in sheets
lying next to me
in the dim light of the moon.
Her raven hair
is sprawled about her pillow.
Dare i touch?
Dare i long to feel?
i'm tempted...
She stirs--
is She awake?
can She feel the warmth of my breath amidst the nape of Her neck?
can She feel the soul within me waiting to leap out of my body
and cloak Her in its shade?
She grows silent again...
and, my heart races once more.
As another chance for me to touch--for me to feel--
for me to taste the skin of Her neck
against my lips
presents itself.
