Nervously awaiting his approval--

Intemerate

I offer myself to you

blushing and bare

nervously awaiting

your approval

or rejection.

As if just birthed

into the universe

I curiously inspect

the bone structure

the skin--

piecing together

imperfections

with a doubtful eye.

I shudder to think

you would not be pleased.

I welcome you

to explore me

and to reveal your conquest

to innocent eyes

and intemerate body.

I tremble at your beauty.

I cower at the prospect

of your experience.

But, I will not flee

from you

as I have

many times before.

With new eyes,

I examine my person--

I discover flaws

which weren't there

before.

The harsh lighting

pays my skin

no kindness.

The silence does nothing

for raw nerves

and impending reluctance.

But,

it is clear that my body

answers to you--

and that you know me

far better

than I know myself.

So, I offer up

my humility

and nervously await

to be picked apart

by you--

and lovingly

pieced together

again--
