And it is for you

all my love poems

have been written.

And only for you

has my vaulting emotion

leapt tirelessly--

until now.

For, I fear I have written

one love poem

too many.

And it is for you

all my time

has been spent

mulling over words

which don't sound as fluid

when read aloud.

And it is to you

all my admiration and pining

had been dedicated--

until now.

For, I fear, this heart

has ached for you

one time too many.

And I fear,

one time too many

I have loved you

in vain.

So, it is in your name

that I shall put down my pen

and bleed from the depths of my soul

no more.

It is for the sake of your

unobtainable love

I shall claim

to have never writ.

And, it is in your name

I shall never write again.
