Yes I am different you have made that clear
You say we don’t matter so what is your fear?
You label our skin colour, that’s different to yours
You tell us we’re nothing, you point out our flaws
You say we’re not worthy to do as you do
But can’t you see? We breathe the same air as you
You call us names as if we did wrong
You say you don’t think that we belong
You don’t understand that like you we’re the same
We know we are different yet we aren’t ashamed
When you look in the mirror then look at me
Tell us really what do you see?
We have a heritage the same as you have one
We have a culture, a belief, like you all have done
We don’t ask that you leave or that you make sacrifice
We don’t ask that you change any part of your life
But we do ask one thing and its one thing that’s fair
That we can all live in harmony and learn to share
We all should be treated with equality
We can learn from each other if you could only see
Notice one thing, none of us were born to hate
By judging each other, does not change our fate
We dream one day we can live as one
One race, one dream, as this life’s just begun
Please don’t hold fear or hatred or blame
Just look within, we are all the same
