Her eyes fluttered open, the impact of the giant boulder must have knocked me out.
But now, where was I?
The room held only one roaring fireplace, which seemed to only illuminate what is in close proximity. Two chairs sat opposite each other, gave off the strange feeling that they had been occupied shortly before my arrival.
Behind her was blackness, as if in this reality only this small part was real.
"Who would be kept in such a cage as this?" She whispered.
The fire crackled and sizzled, but none would answer her question.
Then, from behind the fire place came a soft humming. Approaching the noise, the girl was surprised to find a large, oak door nestled into the wall. The noise grew louder as she went towards the door.
"Hush.. Hush.."
Her hand reached out to grab the door, that was ajar, when the voice floated to her. Jerking her hand back quickly, she took another step forward.. only to be tripped by something large, chunky and very noisy.
Catching herself before falling head first into the large door, she steadied herself. Stretching her foot out, she balanced herself against the door, testing the floor for more of whatever it was. Sounds of grinding metal and a slithering came to her ears. In the less than lit area, she knew she had found chains, heavy and cumbersome.
They must have been around the door, but why?
Light footed, she made her way around the thick door and stepped cautiously into the dark room. It was spacious, well kept for a prison.. the room seemed to expand further into the darkness.
"Hush, my sweet little angel.."
Scared into stillness, the girl reached her hand out to find the wall, upon finding it groped her way around until she felt a curve. Poking her head around the corner, she saw
a light and a man.. a man handsome in the most breathtaking of ways, reached his hand up and stroked the cheek of the woman he held in his arms.
"Hush now, don't cry.."
Whereas he was muscular, defined and lithesome.. she was frail, her beauty in the way she was small, help ness to the point of breaking.
"I want to go home.." The girl choked out, a soft cry coming from her as she watched the man shake his head.
"You know, as well as I, that you are banished.. would I not love to have you back at my side, Michelle.."
The girls head dropped and lolled to one side, her features now more pronounced. A straight, sweet nose that framed large oval eyes the color of the sea. Her mouth would have been described as a rosebud, if not for the dried blood and cracking.. hair that would have been voluptuous and the brightest of chestnut, was drab and lifeless.
Pushing more into the darkened hallway, she crept a little more further.
"Micheal, oh Micheal.."
"Hush.. Hush, my dear.. I do not have long.. please, smile for your brother?"
The frail woman looked towards him and smiled. A true smile, for it lit up her face, her features coming alive once more to show the beauty that was wasted.
"There.." Micheal smiled at his little sister.
Ooof!
She tripped on the stone slabs, her hands coming out to brace her fall. Thankfully she was not hurt, but her fall alerted them of her presence.
Lifting her head, she saw both their eyes locked onto her. The man seemed beyond himself with a dark anger, as his sister looked only faintly surprised.
"Micheal.." Michelle lifted her small, delicate hand and caressed his profile,"She did not know, let it go."
The girl backed up,"I-I-I.. I'm.. so-sorry.."
A rustling sound behind the pair distracted her, and for a moment she thought she was hallucinating. But as sure as she was alive, she knew those big, fluffy movements were made from giant, white wings.
The wings seemed to envelop the man and the girl, protecting her seemed to be the only thing he cared about.
"Out.." His great wings fluttered behind him, moving with his growing agitation,"OUT!!!"
The tiny cell seemed to shake with his fury, the ground shook as she turned to run.
"Micheal, I want to go home.."
Behind her she heard the soft crying of the woman known as Michelle, and the booming voice of her brother, Micheal.
Reaching the door, she jumped out of the room just in time for the door to slam shut. Everything began to quiet as she began to catch her breath, her wheezing came and gone.
The slithering of chains caught her attention, and as she lifted her head.. she saw the chains wrapping themselves around the great door, encasing the woman inside.. blinking rapidly, she couldn't begin to believe her eyes as bright, yellow runes started to appear.
"What is going on!?"
Again, her question was unanswered, for the remainder of her black out, she sat and pondered of what she had seen, why she had seen it and how she could help the young woman trapped within.
