The Epileptic

Tick Tock goes the clock,

Counting down the hours,

Before I lose my grip,

Bang! It’s gone,

Lost in a blur of confusion.

Eyes opened wide,

Eyes awaiting the tide

That’s sure to fall upon me.

I’m not the same,

I thrash, I shout, I scream.

Sometimes it hurts,

Like the burn of a knife

But most of the time…

I accept.

It’s just me.

The way I was born to be.

So tick tock,

Count down the hours,

I’ll take it as it comes.
