I feel that, like newspapers, behind each "cover story" is a deeper meaning to everyone. I learned the hard way how people jump to conclusions so many times, however don't want to complain because it has made me a better poet as well as helped me understand other people better in not jumping too quickly to conclusions.

I glare at its intensity

A cover story I could have anticipated
Of a man in a horrific accident
Or a child
Who’s body was found in a lake
A day after their kidnapping

Taxes are found to constantly rise
As the stock values decrease
And though these seem of little importants to me
I cannot help but think of the families impacted by this news

To keep people’s ratings up
There is the occasional mention
Of a marriage
Or a birthday of a celebrity

This fifty cent paper
Covered in black ink
Is seen by a thousand eyes
And almost every paper’s ink
Is smudged
