The house was quiet, the only sound that you could hear was from my sleeping family. How they breathed. I wanted to go over to mom and dad’s room, but I was afraid, afraid of the dark. In the dark did everything scary live, like the witches, ogers and vampires. Everything that wanted to eat me lived in the dark, and it frightened me.

But I guess that is not unusual that a five year old little girl is scared of the dark, that the unknown will make little girls thoughts run away and make them believe that there is some kind of monster in the dark that wanted to feed on their small bodies, and rinse there teeth’s whit their small bones.

Suddenly I heard a small knocking noise on the window. I quickly turn my head to the window. The only thing I could see was the darkness outside. The darkness that frightened me, that wanted to swallow me whole. I quickly hide under my cover, there noting could hurt me, nothing could touch me. I was invisible for the rest of the world, I did not exist. No one would ever find me. Except mom and dad, they would always find me, always comfort me, and make all the bad monsters disappear. They were my shield towards the rest of the world.

Then I heard a squeaky noise from upstairs. There mom and dad had their bedroom. Maybe someone wanted to hurt them. The scary monster that wanted to hurt mom and dad was now going down the stairs. Step by step. Squeak, squeak. I took out my head from the cover, so I could see, to see what kind of monster that wanted to hurt my parents. But still I got a picture in my head. A green big monster, whit sprawling purple hair and a big head. A head whit orange pimpels, big teeths, big enough to eat mom and dad. In my head he was big and fat, like santa, but in a bad way! I got scared of my imagination, but I could not shake the feeling that that was the monster on his way to eat me.

The monster walked past my bedroom, and towards the kitchen. Now it was going to steal our food. That did make me mad. Where would this rudeness end?! First my mom and dad? Then my cereals? What would I live on? Now that mom and dad could not care for me no more.

I almost forgot about my fare and sat up in my bed, whit the cover around my shoulders. I was a little bit afraid of putting down my feet on the floor, if in case there was a monster under the bed. I had my head down, looking down at the floor, so I did not notice that the monster did stand at my door looking at me until the lights turned on. I turned my head up fast. And in the door did dad stand, and with a big smile he said; “What are you doing up honey?” I didn’t know what do answer him so I just yawn and said; “Goodnight dad” and putted my head on my pillow. Dad turned lights of and went back up the stairs to his and moms bedroom. And the next time I opened my eyes it was morning, and the darkness was gone.

Everything went better then expected.
