I seem to have always desired desertion,
At least in fair amounts.
Even when I so desperately crave affection,
I want to be ignored too.
An overbearing amount of attention is frightening.
It's like having a lovely pair of hands wrapped around my throat.
I can admire the build of the digits,
But that doesn't change the fact that they are slowly suffocating me.
The most I can do is fight back,
Which ends with the loss of one,
Or the loss of both.
I approve of neither.
