"A brief conversation between two people who have just met."

"Oh, hey Jim, nice to meet you."

"Yeah, Stu. You know what?"

"What's that?"

"I like cheese."

"No, really? Me too! Seems like we have something in common."

"That's great! I like Monterey Jack, you?"

"I'm more of a Swiss person myself."

"That's a relief. We could never be friends if you liked American."

"No way! It's the same with me -- I despise American cheese."

"I love you."

"Me too, man, me too."

I don't know of many people who can write successfully about food items, but you sure do hit the nail on the head with this one (not to mention the potato story, Lol). Cheese (but not American---I hate it, too) and potatoes are two of the best things in the world!

Very cute little story :)

I do have an obsession with food. And inanimate objects (hence the sock tale). I actually wrote a 15 page short story from the perspective of an assassin's knife not too long ago. I think it's a psychological issue, probably has something to do with gender confusion and believing myself to be a potato. Go figure. :D
