Just a little something that I wrote about rain and the end of the world and what it has become. I really like the way it turned out. I do have plans to finish it but am terrified I will mess it up.

Please remember if you read it you review it. Thanks.

It seemed that I was living a somewhat normal life before this happened. I worked, I had a great family and a well, odd, but rewarding bunch of friends. Honestly I like it better this way but that’s something you will have to learn on your own. Remembering the day it started is hard for anyone who was alive when it happened. I suppose we don’t want to remember the day the world as we knew it, ended. Day, no, it was more like a year to me to some it has not ended and I pity them. The sky had grown dangerously dark that day. Winds raged and in Washington the threat of a tornado was apparent yet unexpected. The electricity was the first to go and as the world tried its damnedest to ‘light’ up again back up batteries started to fade. Gas and diesel seemed to evaporate as it started to diminish from the earth and in just a few long hours the world had no power. As the makers of vegetable oil powered cars started to count there money they too stopped working. Anything and everything that ran off batteries or fluid ceased to work. The phones didn’t even have a tone or a sound. Stepping outside the world was silent and dim. For the first time in years humans could heard the earth breath peacefully. When lightning struck the ground shook, trees fell and instantly burned. The atmosphere got humid and sticky. You started to sweat as the earth heated up to an abnormal temperature. I remember wiping sweat off my forehead to have it instantly replaced. Holding my shaking hand out I felt another sweat drop hit my hand when I realized it was raining. This rain was warm almost hot and fell strangely to the ground. You would get briefly wet and instantly dried by the atmosphere. Strange rain I will never forget.
