Hinata's POV

Now that Naruto and I are teenagers, we kind of drifted apart but we still talk. But we don't actually speak a lot when we are at home, we use signs as in paper and pen. We sit on our window seats and write what we say on a piece of paper. Kind of childish I know, but it's our way of talking.

You're on the phone with your girlfriend.

I open my curtains and see Naruto sitting on his bed talking to Sakura, his girlfriend. I grab a book and sit on my window seat. He knows I'm not actually reading the book, he knows I'm waiting to talk to him. He gets up and sits in his window seat. This meant they were almost done talking. He smiled and said something to her. He was holding a picture, I'm guessing it was of her. I couldn't hear it but I saw him laugh, so I guess he told her a joke. All of the sudden, his smile faded.

She's upset, she's going off about something

that you said.

He got up and walked away from the window. Uh, oh, I thought. I opened my window so I could hear him. He pulled the phone away from his ear, she must of been yelling. He looked at me with this "tired of this" look. "Sakura, listen to me... It was a joke... I'm sorry... Fine... Whatever... Bye..." He hung up the phone and threw it at the wall. I heard it crack. He ignored it. He walked over to his desk and put the picture in a drawer.

He grabbed a marker and a notebook. I did the same, placing my book I was "reading" on my desk. "Naru, are you okay?" I wrote on a peice of paper. I turned it to him.

As he read it, he ran a hand through his hair. He opened the notebook and began to write. "I don't know," was what it said.

I gave him that "I'm sorry" look. I turned the page and wrote, "Do you wanna talk about it?" He looked so sad as he read the paper. He held up one finger, signaling that he would be right back. He got up from his seat and went to his desk. He grabbed something and came back to the seat.

'Cause she doesn't get your humor

like I do.

He began writing something and turned it around. The first thing I saw was a retarded picture of Sakura and her friends. I laughed then read what he said. "I told Sakura that she looked retarded in this picture and she got super mad. I was joking though." I started laughing so hard I almost fell out of my seat.

I wrote back, "I'm sorry but that is a really stupid reason to get mad." He shrugged. I began to write something else but when I looked up I saw that he was gone.

I'm in the room,

it's a typical Tuesday night.

I set my notebook on my bed and put my marker in a drawer. I went into my bathroom and brought my brush back into my room. I sat in front of my mirror and pulled my hair down from it's ponytail. I eventually got my hair to brush straight down. I went back into the bathroom and got changed into my pajamas. I splashed water onto my face, like I do every night.

I'm listening to the kind of music

she doesn't like.

I walked back into the bed room and put my notebook in a drawer and my marker in a cup. I turned on my radio and a song that I knew by heart came on. I slowly danced around my room, humming to the song. In my mind I knew Sakura would never be caught dead listening to this kind of music. I began singing along to the song not even knowing it.

And she'll never know your story

like I do.

I looked out my window and saw that there were people moving in next door. I saw that they had a son. I was ten so I wasn't interested in dating. But, I was interested in making friends. I lived with my dad, my sister, and my cousin. My cousin was more like a brother, he helped me through a lot of things. I heard my dad, Hiashi, call to me. "Hinata, come one. We are going to greet our new neighbors." I slipped my shoes and coat on and ran downstairs.

Neji was carrying a plate of food and my dad was holding my hand. I looked over to see Hanabi, my sister standing next to Neji. "Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Uzumaki." Dad said shaking the man's hand. He let go of my hand and I grabbed onto his leg. "It's so nice to meet you. I'm sure you are hungry so we brought you over some penne pasta." Dad took the plate from Neji and handed it to him.

"Oh, thank you, um, I didn't catch your name." The man said taking the plate and handing it to his wife.

"Oh, how rude of me, my name is Hiashi. These are my kids Hinata and Hanabi. And this is my nephew Neji." Dad said introducing us.

"Oh, my. Well, do you mind if Hinata goes in and plays with our son, Naruto? He's about her age." Asked the lady that was holding the plate.

~End Flashback~

That night I found out that Naruto's life has been rough. He has always been on the move, never staying in one village for a long period of time. His parents hoped that this would be their last move.

But she wears short skirts,

I wear t-shirts.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

The next morning, I rolled over and turned my alarm off. I sat up and walked down stairs. I smelt the food Neji was cooking, eggs and toast. I sat at the table and he placed a plate in front of me. "Wow, when did Medusa move in with us?" Hanabi asked walking into the kitchen. Neji chuckled.

After I finished eating I went back up stairs to get dressed. I pulled out a white cami, a pink t-shirt, and a pair of white Burmuda shorts. I looked in the mirror and knew that it would never compair to what Ino would be wearing. She would probably be wearing some kind of mini-skirt and tank top. I saw Kankuro standing at my door. I turned around. "How come I can't be like her? Maybe then the Uzumaki would like me."

Dad came in and gave me a hug. "Don't ever say that. He will like you for who you are. And I bet he does like you. I mean why wouldn't he, you're a beautiful young lady." Dad said kissing my forehead.

When I arrived at school, I met up with Tenten. She was her cheery self. We heard a car squeal as it drove away from the school parking lot. We all turned to towards the door to see Ino and Shikamaru walk through the door. She was wearing a white mini-skirt, black tank top, and a light pink jacket. Everyone cleared the hallway when she walked through.

Naruto looked at me, smiled, then waved as he walked by. The day went on dreadfully with teachers giving us tons of extra credit work to bring up our grades. The only up of the day would be the junior vs. senior football game. It's the game all of us have been waiting for. It's the last game of the year.

She's cheer captain

and I'm on the bleachers.

I sat in Algebra waiting for the final bell to ring. Neji was playing against Kiba. I thought that a best friend competition would make the game more intense. And it just so happens that Naruto was on Neji's team.

The bell finally rang, I grabbed my books and headed straight for my locker. Seconds later, Tenten appeared at my side and we headed to the football stadium. Since it was a junior vs. senior game, it was held right after school.

In the mix of the crowd, I saw Ino hopping down the hall. When we got to the doors of the stadium, Sakura and her group went off in another direction, while the rest of us went to the bleachers. They were cheerleaders, of course, so they got to be on the field.

Tenten and I sat down next to Temari, Lee, Hinabi, and Shino. It looks like Temari and Lee were a couple and so were Hinabi and Shino. The whistle blew and the game began. The whole time I had my eyes on Naruto, but I often watched my cousin to make sure he was okay.

Dreaming about the day

when you wake up and

find that you're looking for has

been here the whole time.

The whole time I thought of how many times Sakura and Naruto fought just this past week. I counted at least 8 times. They didn't have much in common and she knew nothing about him. I just kept thinking that he would be much happier with me. Not Sakura, not Ino, not Hinabi, not Tenten, not anyone, just me.

At half time, I walked down to the lower fence to congratulate Neji on the 14 point lead. I stopped halfway there Tenten had beaten me to him. He chuckled then kissed her lightly, before she walked away. I felt my jealously building up. When I got there, he came up to me a gave me a huge hug, pulled me over the fence, and thanked me. "Hina, I'm so glad you came and it seems like Naruto is glad too."

"How do you know that?"

Neji leaned down to my ear so that no one would hear him. "Well, you can't tell anyone this but since you're my sister I know you won't tell anyone. Ever since he saw you walk into the stadium, he hasn't stopped talking about you." I blushed. Was Neji being truthful? Of course he is, he never lies. I thought to myself.

If you could see

that I'm the one

who understands you

been here all along

so why can't you see

you belong with me

you belong with me.

I walked over to where Naruto was sitting. "Hey, Naruto. Good game so far." I said scaring him.

"Hey, Hina. I'm so glad you could make it. You're like my good luck charm. every time you're here, we win. When you're not, we lose." He said standing up and wrapping an arm around me. Just then Sakura walked up and pushed me away. She gave me this "get lost loser" look. I said bye to Naruto and turned and walked away. I decided it just might be best to leave. I went back to Neji and he lifted me over the fence.

As I walked home, I thought about how when he needed someone to talk to he would come to me. When he needed a shoulder to cry on he came to me. I was the only one who understood him. Every time he tried to talk to Ino about something important, she would tell him to shut up. When she did this it made me so mad.

When I got home, I went to the freezer and got some chocolate ice cream out and went to my room. I turned on some sappy movie and ate ice cream until my sister and cousin got home. "Hinata, get out here." Neji called to me. I turned the movie off and wiped my eyes free from any tears.

"Yes, Neji-nii-san?" I said walking into the living room and taking a seat next to him.

"I saw the look on your face when Sakura pushed you away. Don't let her get to you. That's what she wants. She wants you to give up on trying to get him to like you." He said giving me a hug. That was the smartest thing he has ever told me and he's told me some pretty smart things. "Oh and one more thing. Dad told me to tell you to start packing your things because you are going to live with mom over in America." I choked up.

"Moving to America? With mom?" He nodded.

Walk in the street

with you in your

worn out jeans.

I can't help thinking

this is how it ought to be.

Laughing on a park bench

thinking to myself

'hey isn't this easy'

I walked outside after eating dinner to get some fresh air. I needed to get away from everything., from everyone. I stared walking towards the library, one of the quietest places on Earth. I heard him call my name. I tried to keep walking, but he caught up with me. He made me sit on a bench with him. "Why did you leave the game? We ended up loosing and I thought 'The only way this could happen is if Hinata's not here.' But I knew you were here and when I looked at the spot where you were sitting, you weren't there." He said looking at me intently.

"Oh, um, I had to get some chores done before my dad got home." I lied. I just didn't want to tell him the truth. I didn't want to tell him that I wanted to be the one to push away a girl when she was around him.

"Haha, yeah We don't want your dad to be pissed." I actually laughed at this. He chuckled. "Well anyways, I wanted to know if you wanted to go get some ice cream?" He asked standing up. He stretched a hand out to help me up and I gladly accepted. We walked all the way to the ice cream parlor, talking the whole way there. I looked over and saw that he was wearing my favorite pair of his jeans. They were sightly faded on the butt. They made him look so hot.

And you've got a smile

that could light up this whole town.

I haven't seen it in a while

since she brought you down

you say you're fine

I know you better than that.

hey what you doing with a girl like that.

The whole time we have been walking I didn't seem him smile that perfect smile. He said nothing was wrong but I knew that he didn't mean it. I knew something was wrong. But he didn't want to talk about it. I let it go, I knew that Sakura did this to him. I wanted him to just break up with her, she wasn't the type of girl for him. I was though. We sat and talked for what seemed like hours. We started talking about one night that we stayed with each other all night long.

Oh, I remember you

driving to my house

in the middle of the night

He was coming home from a party. He was completely drunk. We didn't want his parents to find out so he spent the night at my house. The party was at Sakura's house. When he said that, I knew that they were doing crazy things. Probably things he would regret. When he was finally sober enough, he went home. As we thought about it we couldn't stop laughing.

I'm the one who makes you laugh

when you know you're about to cry

We're walking home and I look over at Naruto. He looks like he's about to cry. "Naruto, what's wrong."

"Nothing. I'm just alittle bored. And Sakura. She just has to have everything perfect. She doesn't get that I'm not perfect."

"Neither is she." I added. "Let's go to my house and listen to music."

"Okay." We walked the rest of the way to my house.

I know your favorite songs

and you tell me about your dreams

We sat and listened to his favorite band. He told me about the past dreams he had. They were so awful. They were about how he pictured his and Sakura's relationship in the future. He was so miserable and sad.

I think I know where you belong.

I think I know it's with me.

He went home later that night. I finished packing my things. I put one last sign on my window and walked to my car. My dad got in the drivers side and drove me to the airport. I got on my plane and it took off. Leaving my family, friends, and most important thing, Naruto.

Naruto's POV

I heard a car go down the street. I went to my window to talk to Hinata. I opened my curtains. I saw a note on her window. I read it aloud. "Naruto, I'm sorry to say this. But I'm moving to America with my mom. I have one last thing to say. I love you. I always have and always will. Well, that's it. Goodbye." I broke down into tears.
