Day after day we live our lives

Ignorant of the others around us

We pass through lifes hundreds of times per day

Too small for us to ever notice

A simple joke told to a friend,

And told again once more

Inadvertently we have impacted a stranger's life

And what does it matter?

Maybe nothing at all, but it’s a reminder of how close we all are

And that every action has a consequence.

We have been given a gift

To be able to rule over this land as gods.

We are creators

And destroyers

But what if we were to use this gift for good?

The tiniest good action

Dropped into this pond of a life

Will ripple out to the edges

And ripple back in.

So many lives it would touch

If only we would reach out

And let it drop from our hands.
