What would I do without you Lord?
Why have you called me?
I was lost into my dark little corner
Contemplating the walls that I befriended
I was lost, I was blind, to the outer world unseen
Then one day, you started knocking
A sound, a whisper, a calm response
No fear, no anxiety, just you in patient waiting
What would I do without you Lord?
You courted my heart slowly
Gave a crown over my head
Dressed me in white garments
You told me “I'll never leave you”
Then one day, you came knocking
The sound of my heart you knew
No worries, no stress, just you smiling
What would I do without you Lord?
You seduced my soul with a whisper
A fresh breeze from a new creation
Open your hands and offered a way
You told me “don't be afraid”
Then one day, I opened the door
The sound of it created our tender song
No darkness, no walls, just you my Creator and I your son
What would I do without you Lord?
You seduced my heart and you have won
A new creation you made of the old me
Now I'm won over by your Grace
Now Salvation graces my way
Now you are the lover of my soul
With every breath there is a praise
A never ending praise of love
A never ending worship is our song
A never ending song is our love
Put a desire in me to love you more deeply
To sink into your presence and rest in your mind
To walk thankful of every step
And when I stumble over them
Over my own frail humanity
Hold out your arms, for me to run back to you.
What would I do without you Lord?
Nothing would I, nothing want I
Just to rest on your chest
And sleep over the rhythm of your breathing
Just to be on your arms
Resting my troubling mind
I still remember the day when you came
And blew my walls away
Held me and said “You are my son”.
Now I'm yours, not longer lost
Now I'm not blind, your world is all I see
Now I can look up to you and say “You are my Father”
Now I can finally get lost in our little tender song of love.
