In 2006, I fiund myself in a financial situation that meant I had to look for a room to rent, whilst I let my house out. Everything was great, for a while. My landlord, who was a well-dressed, handsome and popular man, was possibly the most helpful and kind indivudual that I could have hoped to meet. But, one day, the police arrived at the flat for his regular signing of the Sex Offenders register.
Things quickly turned, and I found myself being stalked, harrassed and defamed by a convicvted Paedophile. Due to laws relating to disclosure, the Police were not allowed to tell me anything about his case, that he didn't give them permission to tell! The problem being that I am a single father, with a young daughter. I found myself in a spiral of both disgust, and fear, as I locked myself away and tried to hide from the terrorism that I faced for four years, until his second conviction.
Thanks to the 2013 libel reform, I am able to publish my story as a matter of public interest.
