He didn’t talk unless he was asked a question. He didn’t elaborate unless he was asked another. He didn’t argue. He did what he was told. He knew he was appreciated, but he didn’t care. He didn’t let his hopes go. He just never started hoping. He thought about everything and feared nothing. He didn’t wait for things to happen, but lived in the moment.  He didn’t resist another’s will. He didn’t feel pain, but knew it was there. He knew he was better than everybody else, but he didn’t care. He wasn’t acknowledged. He would be missed.

She would do anything to make someone happy. She would feel everyone else’s pain. She didn’t care about herself unless someone else cared about her. Nobody loved her but everyone liked her. She loved everyone, but she didn’t realize that. She dreamed of the future and lived in the past. She helped people out and she spoke when she wanted. She was better than him. Nobody would miss her.

They met by the river where he saved her from drowning. He walked away without a word. She went after him and thanked him but he simply ignored her. She asked what his name was and he told her. She asked him to dinner. He refused and walked away. She stared at him knowing the pain he held in him, which he didn’t know that he had. She woke up the next morning and had the worst day of her life. He woke up the next morning and ate eggs. He thought of her throughout the following months and she occasionally thought of him too. They never forgot, but they both soon put it in the back of their minds for the rest of their lives.
