My first go at dark poetry.
...
It failed miserably. :D You'll see why.

A dark terror,

Spreading through my veins,

Of fear, of wanting to escape,

But trapped in place.

I can't move,

I can't see,

In the blind darkness,

That haunts me throughout the day.

I woke up from a nightmare,

A long corridor filled

With doors that I open

And each one has the same result

The same, terrifying result

That I can't change, no matter how hard I try.

I walk through school, a monster gnawing in my chest,

Fear and anxiety that I can't spill,

I see everyone else cheerful, I envy them of their happiness,

I explain to my friends, but they tell me I'll be fine.

But they don't know the terror that haunts me

The merciless clock that ticks towards the hour,

When She will come and find me.

The time has come,

And She appears, in her clothes of darkness,

A black sword on her chest,

She smiles but the smile does not reach her eyes,

And utters the words,

The dreaded words I heard in my nightmare,

That leads to my end,

That leads to the fate that I cannot change,

That leads to my doom:

"Class, it's time to hand in your homework."
