A Night with a Fallen Angel

My Entry for the Dream Catcher Contest 2016

It was a Saturday night and the only thing on my mind was to have fun. Being as though I have such innocence stilled inside me I decided to take a ride on the dark side. It was just me and him. The cool guy that everyone loves, the popular kid in school that everyone wants. Seeing that there were bottles of beer everywhere and what looked like cigars laying in the ashtray, and only one left burning away slowly, I wanted to do everything I could to impress him. Sitting in the living room on a sofa together, practically hugging distance, was mind blowing for me. Considering how lucky I was to even have him alone with me at my place. After what felt like hours pass us by was only minutes. The temperature seemed to rise, and it felt like it was getting warm. I can see what looked like flames were starting to surround us all over. As darkness started to creep from the floors up to the walls making its way to the ceiling. Black shadows seem to whirl in circles as if they were racing. I couldn’t see it but I can hear what sounded like the crunch of wood burning, like the way wood burns in a fireplace. I seem to have lost perspective on where I was at. I just wanted to take off my clothes because It was so hot in here. I was scared to put my feet on the floor because all I saw were piles of black snakes. In the far distance I can hear foreign chanting. I couldn’t make out what they were saying, but it sent chills up my spine. As I turned next to me in expectance to see that charming face that I adored so much, was nothing but a black shadow of a beast and all I can see was horns on his head. I didn’t know what that was. As he stood up his head almost went through the ceiling, and in the reflection on the walls behind him I can see a tail. As I was absolutely terrified at what I was seeing, it’s as if time stood still and I stood there frozen. Then suddenly he became angry and shouted so loud that the walls went crumbling down,  the windows were shattering and everything was up in a whirl, as if a tornado was taking place in my living room. I began screaming so loud and falling to my knees, covering my ears only hoping this was all a dream. I was caught up in downward spiral and felt myself being sucked in, and falling further and further down to what felt like almost fifty feet below. I couldn’t keep up, all I could do was scream, then I crash landed to the floor and felt paralyzed. I couldn’t move. It was dark. I was terrified to open my eyes. As I slowly began to open them to see where It was that I landed, I was merely wrapped up in my sheets on the carpet of my bedroom floor to the sound of my alarm going off. Breathing heavily, thanking God It was just a nightmare, I wiped the sweat from my forehead, and walked to the restroom. As I turned on the faucet to splash some cold water on my face, I saw what looked like burn marks on both my arms.
