A painful reminiscence of a family member.

You kill me every day,

But tell me, “It’s okay,”

To hurt the way I do,

And it’s all because of you.

You tell me I’m not enough,

And every day it’s rough,

To hold on to life,

Because I see the knife,

It calls to me at night,

And tells me, “It’s alright.”

I try to fight it off,

I fight and hack and cough,

But it beckons me, and tells me, “Just give up.”

So powerful, and beautiful. I can hear the pain and temptation.

Thanks! Yeah, I try to pour whatever I'm feeling into my writing.
