My trembling hand
Touches her sublime face
This creature of beauty
This angel of grace

My pounding heart
Thunders in my chest
As I kiss the lips
With which she has been blessed

Her bewitching eyes
Drink in my soul
The pathway to Eden
Mine to behold

Her whispers of love
Are songs for my ears
Banishing darkness
Banishing fears

What magic is this
That holds me so tight?
That dazzles my senses
And fills up my night?

I dare not surrender
No sleep, I will choose
For fear that I'll wake
And this dream I will lose
