I wish that you could see me,

The way I really am

Not fat and stressed out

But fit and mellow

Calm beyond belief,

Beautiful in the midst of turmoil,

Alight with innocence

And peace.

My voice, harmonic -

My brow not furrowed -

My hair laying straight -

not standing on end

With frustration

My hands peaceful

Not fidgeting,

Not shaking

My smile bold

Rather than

Hesitant

Because in my heart

It is bold.

I believe in the virtue

Of smiles

Real smiles, not fake

And I, peaceful and at ease,

Will cast my smile

Upon the world,

Friend and stranger alike

While you sit in awe

Of my imagination.
