I hate to remember this day

Hate to bring it forth

But it always comes back

When I'm lacking self-worth

It was an ordinary day

I was in bed, fast asleep

My mother was making breakfast

When the alarm clock starts to beep

I groggily sit up

Then look at the time

It's 8:45

Eggs 'n bacon will soon be mine

I hop down the stairs

When the door bells rings

I don't worry at first

But then I hear screams

Something's gone wrong

So I rush to the door

They were here for a reason

What will they ask for?

But they asked for the worst

They asked for my brother

I start to cry and

Shrieks sound from my mother

"No!" Mother screams

"Bring him back!" I yell

But the men did nothing

This was complete hell

I love my brother

With all my heart

This writing, to him,

Would be a piece of art

The car drove off

Left our hearts broken

We were thinking the same thing

But no words were spoken

We'll never see him again

But even if we do

He might not remember

And just ask "Who?"

And right now I would cry

But there's no tears left to shed

They're all gone

For him I would have bled
